Mark every item already defined in the controlled drawing or purchase package. The result highlights open inputs; it does not determine an achievable tolerance.
Product definition
Controlled 2D drawing and revision are identified.
The matching 3D model is included.
POM family, grade, color, stock form and documentation are defined.
Functional characteristics
Critical dimensions and characteristics are marked.
Datums and necessary geometric controls are defined.
Fits, mating-part data and assembly state are stated.
Surface texture, burr, edge, appearance and handling requirements are separated.
Measurement conditions
Free-state or restrained-state inspection is defined where flexibility matters.
Reference temperature, relevant humidity and stabilization history are defined.
Method, sampling, uncertainty or acceptance rule is stated where needed.
Order evidence
First-article or dimensional-report scope is defined.
Material certificate, lot or regulatory traceability is defined when required.
Purchase-order, drawing and regulatory clauses are identified.

Use ASME Y14.5, ASME B46.1, ISO 1 or another applicable standard only when the controlled product definition invokes it.
