Visual Acceptance Rubric

This rubric keeps appearance, measured texture and cleanliness from collapsing into one vague approval.

Appearance

Visible faces match the drawing map. Grain direction matches each face arrow and installed orientation. Reference sample or photo identity and revision are recorded. Lighting, viewing distance and angle are consistent. Stop marks, cross-grain scratches and edge transitions meet the written rule.

Surface texture

The required parameter and limit are stated. Instrument, measurement direction and evaluation settings are stated. Waviness or form is checked separately where relevant.

Cleanliness and handoff

Oil, abrasive compound and residue requirements are stated. Free-iron, cleaning or passivation scope is stated where relevant. Packing protects approved faces and avoids hard contact points. Deviation, rework and release authority are named in the order file.
